Are you really supposed to hand out counties one by one to your clan vassals by scrolling through your incredibly long list (once you have expanded a bunch) of holdings. Pillage your holdings to maximize your population, holdings with buildings in them are bad holdings for a nomad. There is a button that can replace what kind of holding it.
